Q & A with Paula Kelly

• What was it like before you had a new kitchen by us? What problem(s) were you trying to solve?

Upon seeing the kitchen during the open-home, we decided that if we bought the house, the kitchen needed to be redone. The kitchen was in the centre of the house, set back with 3 walls and an angled bench counter top making it quite poky. The biggest issue was the lighting as even during the summer, the lights had to be on full time to see. The colour was another issue – maroon cabinetry and grey marbled Formica benches with 30x30 terracotta tiles. Whilst the space worked ok, the lights and colour were a big problem.

• What made our business stand out from other options? .

My mum was staying a few days and we had decided to visit several kitchen design places around Auckland with no particular place in general. In my bag, I had kept for several weeks, a half page KOH advert from the local paper which I thought was eye catching and what appealed about the advert was info on their full display kitchens! This was a must see place on the way home! On arrival, mum and I walked into KOH and both our eyes lit up, our feet moved in all directions and we were simply taken by surprise by such a grand showroom. We played with drawers, taps, textures, pull-out systems, styles, designs and had a ball! The reception area was strategically placed in the centre of the showroom, in front of the real fireplace and we were handed a beautiful brochure displaying exactly what we were seeing. We were then offered for a designer to come over to our place the following week and see what could be done. Then I got very excited! I never felt the need to see more kitchens and was completely satisfied with our first booking. A few days later, I took my husband back to the showroom and he was equally as impressed. The rest took care of itself!

• What features sold you on going with us?

Without a doubt – the first impression of the showroom displaying everything you could want to explore for a new kitchen and ideas. Secondly, the team at KOH was so attentive and passionate and we just felt we were in the right place! They also arranged for a builder to specifically manage our project which was priceless and would have saved many hours, days and weeks, if we had to manage it ourselves. Each trade person was then booked to complete tiling, gibbing, electrical etc. Each person was efficient, timely, professional and there were no issues.

• What made you happiest about working with our company?

The terms & conditions applied, the dates projected to start/finish, explanations, reliability and transparency. Workmanship, quality and price were a big part of the deal! I also loved popping into the showroom to have an extra play with things and continue to dreambuild! I also loved the fact that there was no hard sell – the displays did all the work!

Direct and ongoing contact with KOH

• What's the main reason you would recommend us?

I would absolutely recommend KOH and the entire team – the complete management of the project made it seamless and stressless. I have absolute trust in all aspects of the process and would definitely go back for the next kitchen renovation.

 Baunton Renovation
I had the pleasure of working with Kitchens on Highbrook not long after they opened. We had an extensive remodeling of an existing kitchen with the removal of a bathroom to accommodate a new scullery. The team organised a builder to assist with the renovations and the rest of the process was rather seamless.

Because of the type of stone we chose measurements needed to be done after the installation of the cabinets. There is always the fear of a delay at this stage. There was no need for concern as everything was installed and delivered as promised to the highest quality.

I would and have highly recommend Kitchens on Highbrook
